To develop the European Implementation Score (EIS) to estimate the degree of implementation of research evidence into practice

Within WP3 a methodology for measuring how new knowledge is implemented in Europe will be developed using a new theoretical framework. For this purpose we will develop a tool, the European Implementation Score (EIS), reflecting methods for translation of new knowledge into practice in European countries at different levels of the health care system (micro-, meso-, macro-level) and for different health care settings (primary care, hospital, and specialised care).

This EIS will be developed in two phases

  1. Phase 1 - We will identify the different components of the EIS by mapping different implementation methods currently used in Europe
  2. Phase 2 - We will refine the different components of the EIS according to their abilities in determining a successful implementation of research knowledge into practice
